In addition to learning and transmitting authentic folk music as accurately as possible, Helka finds it important to use the possibilities of the zither in the widest range possible.

She considers it her mission to make as many people as possible see the zither as a very virtuoso instrument, having its place on big stages and festivals alike, and which is not meant only for playing folk music, but also anything from jazz to classical music to blues.

With her duo, ZitheRandom, they strive to do just that. Helka also plays in the jazz-folk fusion band Vertigo Collective.
