A Leading Figure in Baltic Jazz

In his artistic vision contemporary jazz blends with electroacoustic music. As educator he started his „Generative Music Incubator”, a platform for contemporary music education and innovation, focusing on electroacoustic music and modular synthesis, sound design and live electronics, training in both DAW and DAW-free creative workflows.

Deniss Pashkevich is an exceptional saxophonist, flautist, composer, producer, and educator who has significantly contributed to the development of contemporary jazz and improvisation. He is a unique artistic phenomenon in the Baltic region and one of the few musicians from this area included in the European jazz family tree as a founding figure of jazz in Latvia.

For over 30 years, Deniss Pashkevich has inspired audiences worldwide with his vibrant personality and musical mastery. He has performed across Europe, Scandinavia, Asia, and the United States, making his concert performances a vital part of the music culture. Deniss’s musical mastery and creativity have been appreciated both in Latvia and internationally. This achievement has elevated Latvian jazz to a global level.

As the founder of the concert agency Riga Room, the record label Riga Room Records, and the jazz, electro-acoustic and improvised music festival Jazz Room Fest, Deniss has devoted much of his creative energy to the development of the Baltic jazz scene.
